EAPA is the European Animal Protein Association. It was founded in 1988 to represent companies that specialise in the production and supply of high quality natural animal proteins. These are valued ingredients in food products, in feeds for farm animals and pets and in aquaculture feeds. They also fulfil important roles in many pharmaceutical products. Animal proteins offer an excellent way of retaining the value from by-products of the meat processing industry that otherwise would be treated as less valuable applications.

EAPA represents all the animal protein producers in Europe. Membership includes major producers in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Through membership of the association these producers share technical information and scientific data with the objective of maintaining the highest standards of nutrition and food safety in all products they offer the food and feed industries.

The secretariat of EAPA is in Brussels, where close contact can be maintained with the European Commission, helping to ensure animal protein products continue to meet all legislative and advisory requirements with respect to quality and safety.

By being members of EAPA these producers share technical information and scientific data, helping them maintain the highest standards of nutrition and food safety in all products they offer the food, feed and pharmaceutical industries.
